Murone

Born in Bilbao and raised between the Basque Country and the Canary Islands he is a strong believer in chromotheraphy as a lifestyle which seeks to add color to otherwise muted backgrounds to bring one good health and vibrancy. After a visit to Mr Muro, the patron experiences an improvement of his emotional state and is motivated to raise his head up high to admire the landscape. In short, visitors are part of an art piece and become aware that all of us can participate in the development of our environment and the improvement of our cities.
Iker Muro, muro meaning “wall” in Spanish, was born to perform graffiti art. He has been painting graffiti since 2001 and for 8 years has created large murals as public space interventions. Muro travels the world painting and spreading his doctrine, “color makes people happy, we beautify places, enriching the cities the we pass through bringing art closer to the people.”
Muro’s control of geometry, perspective and movement are his strengths and are strongly influenced by 80´s graphic design and vectors. The cleanliness of his work and the use of a palette of primary colors are his hallmark. References to Dalís surrealism, or M.C. Escher, combined with the freshness of Memphis Group are seen in his pieces and are inspired by contemporary pop art.
